Hey there knowing members or Terry/Maida.
My comic seller was supposed to order me one of the Katchoo busts. And he ended up getting me one of the origionals used to make the bust... The price on it is $100 bucks and I wanted to know if that was in general a good deal. I am not really familar with the advantage of buying one of the origionals.
Any help is appriciated.

I don't know. I think you should ask Clayburn Moore at Moore Creations. Write to:

AsIs, this is from the Moore Creations webisite:
Katchoo "Diamond" Artist Proof Bust
Beginning this December, Moore Creations, Inc. will be releasing something special for all you truly legitimate Terry Moore fans...the artist proof Katchoo bust. This fully-painted artist?s proof bust captures the likeness of Katchoo, the leading character in Moore?s fascinating award-nominated series "Strangers in Paradise". This special collector?s piece features a genuine diamond pendant hanging from a 14-karat gold chain. Sculpted by our own internationally acclaimed Clayburn Moore, this cold-cast porcelain collectible comes complete with a certificate of authenticity based on Terry Moore?s artwork and signed by both he and Clayburn Moore. Limited to an edition of only 200, and priced specially at $99.00 each, this enchanting collectors? item is one that you can?t afford to miss.
*********
AsIs, artist proofs, are additional copies meant to go to the artist, I guess to 'prove' that the item was manufactured as planned, and as a perk to the artist involved. They aren't actually involved in the production, but this one was supposed to be value added with the gold and stuff. Artist's proofs are not included in the limited edition run(ie they aren't included in the 2500 numbered editions) Customarily they are marked with 'AP' instead of a number or leaving it blank, but these might be marked # out of 200.
The perk of an Artist Proof is that presumedly they were at one point the personal property of the artist. Tho' wether or not these were Terry's or Clayburns, I couldn't tell you.
This item was available for order near the end of last year in Diamond's Previews Order book. The regular one is still available. However, when you asked, he may have just assumed you wanted that one because it was listed in the order book(or if he's not terribly scrupled, just saw a way to make a quick extra $60)
Hope this helps,
Darth
